Optoelectronics II – Lecture

The following topics will be covered in the class:
  1. Introduction
  2. Electronic properties of molecular systems: differences between inorganic/crystalline and molecular/disordered systems, basic molecular physics, optical spectra
  3. Transport processes: metal-semiconductor-junctions, mobilitites
  4. Applications as photosensitive layers: xerography, photovoltaics (amorphous silicon, inorganic thin film, organic)
  5. Applications in displays: photometry, cathhode tubes, LCDs, plasma diaplays, field emission displays, electroluminescence
  6. Organic light emiiting diodes: preparation, materials, modelling and optimization
