Seminar: Strongly correlated many-body systems – Overview

Seminar on "Strongly correlated many-body systems"

Target group: PhD & master students interested in computational methods and topics relevant in our group's research (takes place about every other week, see the schedule)

Instructor (Dozent): PD Dr. Fabian Heidrich-Meisner, Dr. Andrew Hayward
Chair for Theoretical Nanophysics
Contact: heidrich-meisner@lmu.de

Friady, noon - 2 pm, c.t. - see the schedule!
Theresienstrasse 37 - Room A318

This seminar covers strongly-correlated many body physics, broadly defined:
concepts, methods, and realizations in condensed matter, nanoscopic systems,
ultracold quantum gases, and will feature talks by the students on their research,
topics of general interest to the group, or journal club sessions.

  • Strongly correlated electron systems & materials
  • Ultra-cold quantum gases, optical lattices
  • Non-equilibrium dynamics, quantum quenches, thermalization
  • Transport properties
  • Quantum impurities
  • Quantum magnetism
  • Many-body localization
  • Artificial gauge fields
  • Electron-phonon systems
